Project Cool Breeze

Thanks to the support of LSN members the first Community Outreach project was a cool success. As participants we reached into our community to provide at-risk seniors with air conditioners. Knowing the sweltering heat and humidity of lowcountry summers, these seniors greatly appreciated such generous donations. Having volunteered at Brittlebank Park for the distribution of units, I can attest first hand at the gratefulness and thankfulness bubbling from each senior recipient.

Our organization donated a total of 51 air conditioning units. A special THANK YOU goes to the businesses who were so very generous:

Advanced Hearing Care Ashley Park Retirement Community
Cakes Imagined – In honor of Visiting Angels Charleston County Senior Citizens Services
Driftwood Homes ElderCaring, Inc.
Franklin Funding Home Instead Senior Care
Kelly Home Care Services Life Lifts
Linda Richards – In honor of Visiting Angels Lowcountry Senior Network
Mature Living Moving Solutions
Seniors Choice Trident Area Agency on Aging (Beazer Homes)
Visiting Angels

In conjunction with donating a/c units, there were those who donated their time as volunteers. A total of 40 hours were volunteered!! To the following individuals: Thank you for your gift of time!

Kim Aschenbrenner Kristin Danko
Barbara Franklin Paul Franklin
Paul Franklin Jennifer Humphrey
Dana Toth Keesha Wall
Elizabeth Willis Bonnie Yon

Again, thanks to all of you who helped make this a grand success.
